After this discovery, a bridge is built into the canyon with the efforts of the people living in the region and the entrance to the canyon is provided. Then, Shepherd Ekrem establishes a trout farm on a place rented from the Ministry of Forestry for 49 years. Saklikent Canyon was opened to tourism in 1989.
