Saklikent Safari Tour we may call jeep Safari to Saklıkent, Xanthos and Kaputaş Get ready for a full on day with lots of fun and adventure. Following scenic roads, the tour combines village life, activity, site seeing with swimming. If this is your first time in the region and you want to explore different places, this is your day.

Tour Program
The highlights of the trip are having tea in Üzümlü Village, walking in the waters of Saklıkent George, Ruins of Xanthos, enjoying the free time in mud bath near Saklikent and swimming in Kaputaş Beach. The tour requires a general level of fitness and it is optional to walk through Saklıkent Gorge. The day starts with your pickup from the hotel (9.30 Kaş – 10.00 Kalkan).* The first stop will be in Üzümlü Village tea house for some snacks and tea. The old name of the village was Margaz, a type of grape that grows in here, which later was converted to Üzümlü, with Grapes. Depending on the time of the year, you may have the chance to taste Margaz grape. Following the village roads, you will arrive at the mouth of Saklıkent Canyon. 16 km in length, it is the longest canyon within the Lycian region. Towering cliffs, cold springs, narrow walls, small waterfalls and many more awaits the adventurous traveller. Today it is only possible to walk the first 1.5 km of the canyon and those who do not want to walk may sit by the cafes lined by the icy cold waters of the river. An open buffet lunch will be served after the walk in the canyon. Leaving the canyon behind, we will stop by the river to enjoy a mud bath. The waters of the canyon bring a lot of mud into the lowlands and it is a regular stop en route Xanthos. After washing the mud off our bodies in the stream, we will head to Xanthos. Xanthos, Arnna in the Lycian language, was one of the 6 important cities of Lycia and has some of the best examples of Pillar Tombs that are peculiar to Lycians. Set up by Xanthos River, the city was known for its heroic fight against the Persians in the 6th century BC. After a briefing about the site, you will have 30 min to walk and take a look at this beautiful site.  The last stop of the day will be Kaputaş beach with its turquoise waters. This is one of the most photographed beaches in Turkey and has featured many times as the cover photo of guidebooks on Turkey. The tiredness of the day will be washed away together with the waters of Kaputaş. This adventurous day ends as we head back to Kaş with so many memories to be shared by friends.
